Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, so that it can recognise your browser on a later request. Related technologies — local storage, session storage, pixels, device fingerprinting — do a similar job by different means. This policy covers all of them.

No cookies, and one cookieless analytics tag. As at 13 August 2026, simdu.co does not set cookies and does not write to local or session storage. It loads one third-party script: Google Analytics 4.

We run it in cookieless mode. Google’s tag is normally configured to store an identifier in your browser for up to two years so that it can recognise you on a later visit; we switch that off. The tag records that a page was requested — which page, which site referred you, roughly which country you are in, and your browser and device type — and stores nothing on your machine afterwards.

The practical consequence, stated plainly because it is the point: we cannot tell a returning visitor from a new one. Two visits from you look exactly like visits from two different people. We accepted worse statistics in exchange for storing nothing on your device.

Specifically, and to be unambiguous, we do not use:

• analytics that store a cookie or any other identifier on your device;
• session recording or heatmaps;
• advertising, retargeting or conversion pixels;
• Google Signals or ad personalisation — both are switched off in our configuration, so your visit is not joined to a Google advertising profile;
• social media embeds or share buttons that phone home;
• fonts or stylesheets served from someone else’s domain; or
• A/B testing or personalisation tools.

The typefaces this site uses are served from our own domain.

You do not need to make a cookie choice on this site, and there is no preference for us to remember. Blocking cookies in your browser will not affect anything here, because nothing here depends on one.

If you would rather not appear in our page counts at all, any tracker-blocking extension, or your browser’s built-in protection, will block the Google Analytics script. Nothing on this site breaks when it is blocked — the analytics tag is loaded after the page is already running and no part of the experience waits for it.

We do not currently change our behaviour in response to a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Those signals exist mainly to stop the sale of personal information and cross-site profiling, and we do neither: we sell nothing, we build no profile, and we store nothing on your device to profile you with.

Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs when a page is requested, which is a different thing from a cookie: it happens on our side and stores nothing on your device. Section 3.3 of our Privacy Policy describes them.

Likewise, the rate limit on the waitlist form works from a hash held in our server’s memory, not from anything stored in your browser. Section 3.2 of the Privacy Policy describes that.

Google Analytics is described in section 2 and in section 4 of our Privacy Policy, which names Google as the recipient. If we later add anything that stores data on your device, or share data with any further third party, we will update this policy first, and where the law requires consent we will ask for it before setting anything — including a way to withdraw that consent as easily as it was given. Essential cookies strictly necessary to deliver a service you have asked for may be set without consent, as the law permits, and would be listed here.

The SIMDU Software, when released, may store settings on your own device to remember your preferences. That is local to your device, is not a cookie, and will be described in the Privacy Policy before the Software ships.
